SOC 2 compliance certification fraud

Andrew Jeong founded Delve (YC W24), a compliance automation startup that raised $32M. In early 2026, federal allegations emerged that Delve helped clients fraudulently obtain SOC 2 security certifications. Rather than ensuring clients had genuine security implementations, Delve allegedly sold a shortcut that produced required documentation without actual security controls. Client companies then used the fraudulent SOC 2 certs to win enterprise and government contracts. The case attracted significant attention given its implications for the compliance-as-a-service sector.
