Insurance licensing regulatory violations
Parker Conrad co-founded Zenefits, which raised $583M at a $4.5B valuation. Zenefits sold health insurance through brokers lacking required state licenses. Internally, a software macro allowed employees to cheat on mandatory insurance licensing courses. Conrad resigned in February 2016. Zenefits paid $7M in fines to California and $3M to other states. Conrad was not criminally charged and later founded Rippling.
